Modification of the bone mineral composition by coordinative
copper compounds and BioR in experimental osteopathy
The aim of the study was to investigate coordinative copper compounds and BioR influence on mineral composition of the bone in adult rats in experimental osteopathy induced by long term CCl4 administration (8 weeks). Long term CCl4 administration statistically significantly decreased magnesium and potassium and increased sodium contents in the bone of female rats. Only phosphates were statistically significantly changed (increased) in male rats after CCl4
administration. Calcium content is not changed by any of the tested drugs and there are only a few, not very significant variations of the phosphate content. Coordinative copper compounds CMT-28, CMT-67, their combinations with BioR and BioR alone in low doses (1 mg/kg) exhibited negative effect on magnesium, chloride, potassium and sodium contents in bone in toxic osteopathy induced by CCl4. High doses of BioR (2 mg/kg) have beneficial effect on magnesium and potassium levels and less negative effect on chloride and sodium contents. |
