The given work approaches aspects regarding the premises for self identifying of the encyclopedic science as a field of academic research, under the conditions of a longstanding elaboration practice. By underlying the scientific research component associated with the selecting and organizing of the terminological repertory by analytical methods of classifying sciences through references to related terms, it is stressed out the necessity of clarifying epistemological aspects that refer to encyclopedic science definition as an autonomous one by means of the given researches through the paradigm, the object research and the research problems, the frontiers and it’s interferences with other sciences. Being given the Th. Kuhn’s idea according to which, the basis of a practical research and of a consensus in a scientific area isn’t the scientific theory, in fact it is it’s paradigm, here are exposed considerations regarding the legitimacy of self identifying of the encyclopedic science through it’s definitive paradigm- encyclopedic order. Together with the research mission, it is underlined the role of the encyclopedic science in the dialogue promotion among sciences, in the knowledge dissemination process that bear a special or universal character.
