The speech of prof. Emil Constantinescu, former president of Romania, was held on the occasion of the awarding of the Doctor Honoris Causa title by the University of ASM. The title was granted to his Excellency following the Senate decision dated April 19, 2011, both for remarkable achievements in the development of geological and humanist sciences, and for strengthening the Moldovan-Romanian relationships, as well.Could we speak about a Christian policy, in a more general point of view? The answer is: Yes. On one condition though: to conduct a distinction between Christian movement and a certain type of policy subordinated to an empiric set of values and rules that tend to respect people`s personality and their freedom.According to Gustave Thibon, policy could never be entirely one of holiness for the simple reason that any policy must take into account the presence of evil. Why do we need the religious feeling if we cannot use it at its highest level,
that of unconditioned love? We need the absolute of faith in order to understand the relativity of policy, the relativity of morality and that of all realities that are not divine. |
