Migraine associated with conversion disorders – clinical and psychological aspects
Migraine is a common disorder that imposes a large personal burden on sufferers. Conversion disorders, as a comorbid condition in migraine patients, lead to further disability in all aspects of their daily lives. Analysing the cephalalgic, autonomic and psychological pattern of 32 patients who presented migraine associated with conversion disorders, we determined that there is a high influence of this comorbidity on patients findings. It means that conversion disorder’s degree of expression directly correlates with: migraine evolution, frequence and intensity of autonomic disorders, patient’s level of anxiety and depression – manifestations that are finally causing a significantly higher degree of disability. |
