The article considers the ideas about the image of a teacher of fine arts in a preschool educational institution, his qualities, skills and abilities necessary to perform his duties, taking into account modern requirements for his qualifications. The state standards, data from a survey of parents of students, as well as excerpts from scientific works of experts in this field about the "portrait" (creative personality) of a drawing teacher, based on which his modern image is compiled, are given. Attention is equally paid to both personal and professional qualities, thanks to this, a full-fledged idea of the drawing teacher of the modern world is formed.
