Rezumat

The present study is intended to identify the professional values of different groups of musicians. In order to achieve this goal both qualitative and quantitative methods were applied, aiming at the value orientation of three categories of subjects: underground band musicians, band musicians who have star status and musicians performing “club” music (DJs). The results obtained certify that the value dominants for all the three groups of subjects are creativity, professionalism, work satisfaction, professional succes, aesthetics. These, in their turn, orient work towards new performance levels in the field of creation. The lack of these values would entail the subjects’ incompatibility with the artist vocation. The differences are characterized by the underground artists’ lower tendencies of having economic advantages, unlike the other two groups, which have possibly a greater need for them.
