Rezumat

The economic employment world, in an international context, reveals a complex picture with regard to gender gaps in STEM around the world today. According to Careers [1], generally, while there remain places in the world where the gaps are narrowing, some stubbornly remain or even grow. Stoeger et al [18] argued that the assumption according to which differences between men and women applying to study and succeed in STEM subjects were associated with biological factors, including differences in brain structure and development, genetic, neurological or hormonal sources, has been refuted in studies conducted throughout the world. Instead, according to UNESCO’s ecological model, it has been found that obstacles facing girls’ invol-vement in STEM studies are deeply rooted several, mainly psycho-cultural directions. This article attempted to analyze the reasons in international contexts and present suitable solutions.
