Rezumat

Literacy is the basic educational competence of the modern world, which allows each person to learn throughout life and master new information, gaining access to world and national culture, and expanding their inner world. One of the main skills of students, which plays a large role in the formation of literacy, is reading texts - fictional and non-fictional. International studies emphasize the importance of working with each of these types of text. The primary education curriculum in the Republic of Moldova aims at introducing a non-fictional text into the teaching process of primary school children. The process of working on this text requires from a modern teacher the ability to organize work and introduce techniques that allow assimilating the content of a non-fictional text. Purposeful work in this direction will form a model of a competent reader, who will not only have an interest in the book, but will also acquire the knowledge and skills necessary in everyday life.
