Rezumat | ||||||
The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of how China is viewed in Slovakia. It starts with a focus on several important issues that define the relationship between the two countries, such as the missed opportunities of strengthening the mutual economic relationship within the 16+1 Platform of Cooperation or the vagaries of summit diplomacy. The paper then looks at a series of surveys to ascertain the perception of China by the Slovak public. The main conclusion is that this perception is tied to the state of economic relations and it will not improve until and unless trade and investment cooperation substantially improves first. |
