Metal oxide coordination clusters offer a diversified playground for a range of materials with specific electronic and magnetic properties and can be readily arranged in cluster-based coordination polymers (CCPs) by additional bridging linkers. Remarkably, some of the fascinating properties of their cluster constituents can be widely modified by their combination into the final CCP materials. This chapter will discuss the use of structurally well-defined and versatile building blocks such as MnII,III and FeIII oxide carboxylates in the formation of one-, two- and three-dimensional coordination networks with an emphasis on the synthetic strategies and magnetic properties. |
