Rezumat

The theoretical – experimental study presented in this article offers solution to two psychological problems of maximum significance and actuality consisting in the existence of a stereotype that men are more aggressive than women. This stereotype dominates most human conduct, behavior and imposes certain forms of inappropriate behavior and bad attitudes. What are the specific gender differences in aggressiveness. These differences between genders should not be understood in terms of deficit or superiority of a gender versus another. Differences represent different skills and behavioral types that are social constructed. In our case is the stereotype as a social construction. The purpose of research consists in defining the overall picture of male and female aggression and dismantling existing stereotype. Methodological bases of the research are Kon’s, Eagly’s, Stepanenco’s and Ashmore’s theories. As a result of psychological experiment accomplished on two samples of subject of adult age (200 persons) there were revealed the specific manifestation of male, female aggression. Female and male aggression differs through content, form and intensity. Female aggression takes dormant form, hidden or other than direct aggression that is shown by men and has other content. The results of the present research can be applied in the education like a support for promotion of gender equality. It may serve as a basis for changing the existing stereotypes.
