Rezumat | ||
The COVID-19 crisis highlights, more than ever, the need for a frontal approach to climate change, security, social inequity, aging, public health etc. In this sense, research and development, innovation, the education system and the labour market must be able to meet these challenges. These issues are highlighted also by the goals of sustainable development at EU level. But, can the financial framework, the fiscal-budgetary system, the economic growth benefit from putting research and innovation first in order to tackle the future? Therefore, this article deals in econometric terms, for the period 2009-2020, with the benefits of supporting R&D and innovation in order to improve the macroeconomic sustainability at EU level. |
