The article presents the evolution of the road network during the twentieth century in the Republic of Moldova. The development and evolution of the road network on the current territory of the Republic of Moldova was determined by the needs and techniques used in different historical periods, the imperatives dictated by the natural environment, technical performance in the field of transport and state policy in the field of transport. After the end of the Second World War, a stage of accentuated modernization of the communication routes followed. In the case of the road network, a complex program was developed that aimed at both the modernization of roads and route changes, the widening of certain road sections with heavy traffic, the construction of bridges, etc. As a result of these modernizations, the negative impact of the road infrastructure on the geographical landscape has increased. |
