This article is dedicated to assessment of actual state of water resources of the Vilia river - tributary of the Prut river. The Vilia is a small river that flows from Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova. Total lengths of the river is 53.8 km and the basin area is 302 km2. Assessment of water resources was performed by analysis of existing database of hydrological data collected at the hydrological station Balasinesti. Average flow for 1953-2017 is 0.59, volume 19 mil.m3. Flow trends differ: average is in slight increase, maximal - decrease, minimal is increasing. Climate change of the last decades leads to a decrease of flow especially in spring and summer. However, and increase is observed in autumn. Flow of suspended sediments has an increasing trend and is in line with water flow. |
