Rezumat

Marta and Maria Monastery is located in the southern and southeastern part of the Republic of Moldova, 75 km from Chișinău, 13 km from Căușeni district, 7 km from Bender, 400 m from route Căușeni-Tighina. When was identifying the geographical positioning of the monastic hearth Hagimus, the spatial and typological objective of creating a nunnery was targeted, as such a settlement is missing in the mentioned part of the Republic of Moldova. The geographical location of the monastic complex is not an ally one, but in harmonious cohabitation with the nature, the zonal specificity, of the geographical framework and the sociodemographic processes. From geographic-economical perspective, Hagimus Monastery is located in the Southern Geographical Region, the smallest in the republic with an area of 7,370 km2 or 22 percent of the total state area. The location of the monastery is directly related to the southwestern slope of the Eastern European Plain (Eastern European Platform), strongly influenced by the Dobrogea Massif in the south and the Eastern Carpathians, being a more gentle, low altitude. Located in the Prut-Dniester interfluve, the place is part of a large relief structure, the Moldavian Plateau, a unit that stretches west from the Subcarpathians of Moldova and Obcinele Bucovinei, to the Dniester in the east. Near the monastic place is the Protected Area "Hârbovăț Forest", a valuable forest area, attributed to the category of landscape reservations. In the Republic of Moldova, only at Hagimus is found in natural habitat (oak-pendulous forest with expensive) critically endangered species Leontica-de Odessa (Gymnospermium odessanum), occupying about 0.25 ha of surface. The flora in the vicinity of the monastery is beneficial for the cultivation and collection of medicinal and aromatic plants, an activity aimed at the nuns of the monastic complex.
