Background. A comprehensive investigation of staff working in the cosmetology service industry has never been done. This is why government intervention aimed at maintaining quality assurance is crucial. Objective of the study. Evaluation of the proficiency level of human resources working in the cosmetology service industry for guideline development and streamlining of the industry. Material and Methods. A descriptive and selective study has been done which includes 93 records of cosmetologists admitted for quality assurance expertise. Records were assessed using the following research tool: "Evaluation grid for record analysis." Results. There are 13 times more cosmetologists working in the private sector compared to the public sector. Most cosmetologists are women (87%), among which a majority (62%) are between 36 and 49 years old. While a preponderant number of specialists (92%) are graduates from the General Medicine Faculty, only half of them (50%) have received residency training in dermatology. It remains unclear why 2% of hired staff have no higher medical education whatsoever, and 8% haven't followed a residency training programme in any field of medicine. Conclusion. All the contraventions mentioned above can be avoided through strict compliance with the legislation in place, as well as the development of an efficient algorithm of control for relevant national institutions such as: line ministries, national agency of public health, state fiscal service. |
