Background. The prevalence of antiphospholipid antibodies in the general population ranges from 15% and increases when associated with oncological ones. Anticardiolipin antibodies are antibodies that mistakenly target the body's own cardiolipins on the outside of cell membranes, platelets. Objective of the study. Case detection of anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL) in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in order to identify the likelihood of thrombosis. Material and Methods. The study included 47 primary patients: 31 aggressive NHL, 16 indolent NHL patients being complexly investigated, including the study of antibodies to aCL IgG, IgM, antiβ2glycoprotein I and lupus anticoagulant according to age, sex, morphology, focus of the primary tumor and stage. The definition of Euro-Phospholipid for antiphospholipid antibody syndrome has been applied. Results. 47 out of 62 NHL patients hospitalised in the Hematology Department of IMSPIO met the criteria of inclusion in the study. At the first visit, 64,1±1,3 (i-v37-78) was the average age of patients, the duration of the disease was 4,3 (i-v1-12) months, and 42.5% of patients were women. aCL antibodies were found in 7 patients-14.9%, men-4, women-3, with a predominance in stage IV of 83.3%. In 71.4% the primary focus was detected in the lymph nodes. Conclusion. aCL antibodies were estimated in 14.9% of NHL cases, with the same frequency in gender, mean age of 64.1 years old. The frequency in stage IV was 83.3%, being the highest. |
