The cyclic polyoxothiomolybdate K2 x(NMe4)x[I2Mo10O10S10(OH)10(H2O)5]x20H2O acts as a source of cationic binuclear units [Mo2O2S2(H2O)6]2+ which can lead to the formation of many types of spectacular (supra)molecular structures with various dimensions and architectures [1-3]. One surprising application found for such [Mo2O2S2(H2O)6]2+ based inorganic substances is their use in different domains of biology such as biomass growing or antioxidant for instance [4-5]. On their side, thiosemicarbazone ligand (noted HnL) gical activity, including anti-fungal, antibacterial and anti-cancer effects and it is also known that bonding them to cations of transition metals leads to molecules about 10 times more efficient [6]. Therefore, this motivated us to synthesize [Mo2O2S2(Hn-1L)2] complexes and to explore their potential biological properties. Here we report several new binuclear Mo(V) coordination compounds with various thiosemicarbazone ligands and their solid and liquid-state characterizations. The HL exibit the selective atimicrobial activity agains gram-pozitiv bacteria and Candida albicans.
