Rezumat

The growthof the world's populationincreases the demand and consumption of goods. These in turn generate considerable amounts of waste, which leads to air, soil, water and biodiversity pollution, with a negative impact on human health and the ecosystem. Although the harmful effects of this linear consumption cycle are well known, sustainable development, supply and rational use of natural resources are still a global challenge. In a circular economy, material flows change within the economy, so that resources are kept with their productive use for as long as possible, at the highest possible utility and value, through several cycles. Instead of being designed for single use with subsequent disposal after use as in a linear economy, products must be designed and created for reuse. The transition to a circular economy, in which the value of products, materials and resources is kept in the economy for as long as possible and waste generation is kept to a minimum, is an essential contribution to the efforts of international environmental organizations in developing a sustainable, low-carbon economy, efficient in terms of natural resource use and at the same time competitive. At the global level, economic, social and environmental development is a desideratum of sustainable development, which requires adequate management of natural resources and the need for all states to take measures to reduce the rate of increase in pollution and global temperature.
