In September 2014, following the work of water supply to the village Trebujeni, in the soil excavated by the tractor, were observed fragments of human bones. During the research, the National Archaeological Agency specialists have recovered nine graves, all disturbed by fosee for aqueduct. The complexes are part of a much bigger necropolis, being identified only a small part of its eastern limit. The skeletons were Western orientation and were supine with arms along the body, skulls resting on his right temple. The dead were placed in graves without coffins and inventory. All of the skeletons were of mature male, except for one child’s grave. The skulls esteuropoide characters, alpinoide, mediteranoide and dinaroide mixed with strong mongolian elements. The cemetery from Trebujeni, according the funeral traditions and information provided by anthropologists, can be attributed to Muslim populations in the urban settlement of the Golden Horde in the 30s and 70s XIV century. |
