The article refers to the essence and mechanism of insurance sector development and implementation, as one of the elements of the financial system functioning, capable of ensuring the continuity of social reproduction. Insurance is a special kind of economic relation designed to protect individuals and legal entities from various kinds of risks that could lead to significant property losses. In countries with developed market economies, insurance is an essential part of the financial and credit mechanism. Sustainable development of the insurance market contributes to economic growth. The authors analyzed the evolution of insurance sector, reflected the main problems faced by the Republic of Moldova and proposed recommendations on overcoming the situation. |
