The main medico-social problems
like high mortality rates and severe
post-surgical dysfunctions caused by
ENT cancer are the consequences of
late detection. Having as essential
risk factors the tobacco and alco-
hol consumption, the ENT cancer
represents a unique opportunity for
prevention. The potential of screen-
ing, the early detection strategies
and the investigation of viral etiol-
ogy offers other new possibilities
for control.
