Rezumat

Child pornography generally refers to images or films depicting sexually explicit activities involving a child. Because child pornography involves children, the test of acceptability is much stricter than for regular pornography, as consent cannot be given either by the child or guardian. Legal definitions of what constitutes child pornography, and the consequences of producing, collecting or disseminating it, vary around the world. In both common usage and for research purposes, the word “child” in the phrase “child pornography” refers to prepubescent children, and does not refer to post-pubescent teenagers. However, legal definitions of child pornography generally refer to a wider range of material, including any pornography involving a minor under 18-teen years old, or in some cases non-abusive acts involving participants over the age of consent, or fictional images, according to jurisdiction. Child welfare professionals are worried that pedophiles will use the third generation mobile technology to access child sex sites, take pictures of sex with children and trade in images of abuse. Prepaid phones cannot be traced as there is no record of who owns the handset.
