Rezumat

The context of the acculturation processes, where all immigrants are protagonists, does not imply a passive adaptation to the new cultural influences, but rather a creative readjustment through the ability of the human being to mediate, adapting to relationships with others. If for an adult, emigrating means leaving their habits, land, memories, affections, for the child the migration process is more problematic and uncertain. In the case of immigrant adolescents, in the effort to - integrate two different cultural worlds, the complex task of managing the transition from childhood to adulthood is added. By rejecting behavior patterns and parental norms, the adolescent demands autonomy of choice and greater control over life. All this, however, determines him to want to move away from the family nucleus in search of new models and new reference points to identify with and to comply with. In these circumstances, the identity difficulties are fueled by the following elements: - absence or over-visibility. The construction of the ethnic identity of the foreign adolescent often takes place within a society that takes too little account of its presence and its interests. Therefore, it is considered to be an invisible presence in terms of rights, but at the same time, it is visible because it has a different skin color, speaks another language or adheres to a particular religion. The foreign adolescent lives in a very different context not only from a cultural point of view, but also of tastes, attitudes, values, often little taken into account in the family, but of extreme importance for his reality. This paradoxical situation can create identity fractures, as the adolescent may adopt certain behaviors in an attempt to fill the perceived differences; - the migration obligation. The experience of migration, for the most part, is hardly lived by adolescents, and the reduced autonomy of the choice for the future, the difficulties of insertion and all the risks related to immigration can only feed the deep feeling of anxiety and decline of identity; - the earthquake of identity. The impact with the dominant culture often causes real disturbances of identity, with results sometimes devastating. The path is suffocating, especially when cultural distances are more relevant. Another risk is the loss of the secure bases of the Self, through which the person builds his mental and affective universes.
