The Central Scientific Archive of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova permanently keeps the documentary materials which attest the activity of the Academy of Sciences in general and the multiannual work of its scientists in particular. In 1984, the Central Scientific Archive continued to be the structural part of the Presidium Apparatus of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, with the permanent component of documentary materials, gathered over the years of its scientific-economic and cultural activity, along with the manuscripts, works and records of the scientists and other documentary materials making part of the State Archive Fund of the Republic of Moldova. On December 3, 1992 the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova has adopted the Dispozition Nr. 03-245 „About the establishing of the Comission for the documents transfer from the way of secret keeping to the common way of keeping”. In 1993, following the desecretization of documentary materials of the so-called First Section accumulated during the years 1946–1962, 27 dossiers have been transmitted to Archive for permanent storage.
