Rezumat

Given that the European Union is going through a very complicated historical period, driven by persistent effects of the financial crisis, the specter of a secular stagnation in the industrialized world, the crisis of the eurozone (ZE), public and private over-indebtedness, the problem immigration, fragmentation trends and geopolitical tensions, Romania is loyal to this European construction. According to the analyzes, Romania has the most different structure of the economy compared to the eurozone, in particular, as a result of a very different weight compared to this area of agriculture, industry, but also of the services sector. Adopting the single currency can bring greater benefits than costs (net benefits) if the structure of economies by activity sectors of the economies participating in the monetary union is similar. Adopting the euro involves a series of administrative, legal, operational and even psychological costs (as a result of changing banknotes). Also, each Member State is obliged to provide the necessary means to meet the demands of the supranational authority; however, the administrative costs associated with them can be reduced by redistributing tasks or performing certain functions jointly.
