The paper’s authors study the role of Bujor local government in delivering public services to the citizens. In Bujor village, Hânceşti district, there is a large variety of local public services, organized and managed by the local government, services that are currently located at different development stages. Thus, social, educational, and cultural services are organized at a rather high level. There are also transportation, communication, power-supply, heating, and garbage disposal services provided in the village. On the other hand, road maintenance is insufficiently functional, while water supply and sanitation services don’t exist in general, and there are no sewage systems. The role of local government in modernizing delivered public services is insufficiently carried out, the main reason being the lack of funding. Thus, existing funding only allows Bujor local government to maintain existing services, but not to modernize them. On the other hand, Bujor local government is open to implement modern public services management methods, including involving citizens in the delivery and establishing partnerships in the field.. |
