The paper addresses the need to revitalize the vegetable seed production system under the new socio-economic conditions. Enhancing the competitiveness of seeds requires the development of a set of organizational, scientific and agrotechnical measures aimed at ensuring the market and export possibilities with their range and respective quality. Traditions, accumulated experience, favorable pedoclimatic conditions are real prerequisites for revitalizing vegetables. Considering the multilateral complexity of seed production and marketing, it is necessary to organize a republican center (association, concern) with coordination functions, which on the basis of a contract with the economic structures in the branch would organize all stages of production, acquisition and marketing of seeds.
