Rezumat

The years when Romania was governed by Nicolae Ceaușescu, 1965–1989, were called by the official propaganda the „Epoque of Nicolae Ceaușescu” or „Belle Epoque”. The general characteristics of this respective period is treated in a different way by the special literature. Some historians consider that the period 1964–1977 was the recreation time followed by the gradual crisis since 1978 (Dinu C. Giurescu). The other researchers suggest that the chronologic segment of 1956–1969 was the period of authonomy and internal detente, followed by the neo-Stalinism without the terror in the years 1970–1989 (Dennis Deletant). Regardless of the assessments, the years 1965–1989 in the history of Romania are associated with the name of Nicolae Ceaușescu. The complex transformations were performed in all the fields of public and private activity.
