If we look at the relationship between Turkey and its traditional Western allies impartially, it becomes clear that the issues of economy, defense and the fight against terrorism are on Turkey's agenda. After several years of strong economic growth and development, Turkey is currently swimming in turbid waters. First, it remains a country with a structural deficit, low economies, limited natural resources and high dependence on gas supplies from Russia and Iran. Secondly, its commercial performance and foreign direct investment flows, of which 74% are provided by the EU, are largely dependent on the EU. As a result, the country is largely dependent on the economic health of the EU and the mutual political relations |
