Developing critical thinking is a priority in today’s EFL teaching tendencies since it encourages learners to become autonomous and individualistic subjects of instruction capable of making judgements, distinguishing true facts from biased and building cross-cultural bridges. Becoming a critical thinker requires developing certain skills which will further enable learners to be more considered, rational and open-minded. With this purpose in mind, this paper unfolds considerations of the concept, highlights its benefits and recommends activities which enhance critical thinking skills and attitudes in and outside the EFL classroom. |
