The subject of this paper is the occupational therapy (OT) as a method of treatment for physical, cognitive and self-care disorders, within the complex rehabilitation of post stroke patients (post CVA), as it is treated in the specialized literature. This paper presents the general characteristics that define the concept of OT and highlights the practical applicability of this concept in the post CVA rehabilitation. The opportunity of the research reflects the current concerns of the society to recover and integrate people with prolonged development of disability. Thus, the individual, regardless of their condition, needs an occupation that prevents their mental and physical degradation, which once again emphasizes the importance of research in the field of occupational therapy.
