Rezumat

The influence of shock with high and low negative temperatures on the germination percentage and the growth rate of roots and leaflets of seedlings obtained from the seeds of 50 wheat genotypes were investigated. Negative correlations between the germination percentage and the growth rate of the roots or leaves of the seedlings obtained from germinated seeds were demonstrated. As result, to apreciate the relative primary resistance of wheat genotypes to heat and frost, the determination of the germination percentage of seeds exposed to extreme temperatures is recommended, as a simpler and more reproductive method.
