Emotions play a vital role in our lives as social creatures, it was proved that they have a major importance in leadership too. A good lider knows how to recognize and to manage his and his team emotions. A lider with emotional intelligence can be recognized due to the fact that he can control his disruptive emotions in stressful situations and that he can think clearly under presure, because he have a deep self-knowledge. He also have social skills needed for a good interaction with team members, he knows when to colaborate, when to be just a spectator, when to listen and when to domine, he creates a pleasant atmosphere and are flexible in some situations in oreder to bring prosperity and fantastic rezults to the company. Emotional intelligence can be discribed with 18 competences, and the good thing is that it can be trained with the help of Boyatzis’ Theory of self directed learning. |
