Rezumat

This paper deals with the use of laser scanning results that have been carried out in the Republic of Moldova as a support for various engineering applications. An overview of topographic and geodetic products is presented, which has an enormous economic potential but with insufficiently capitalized regret. The strategy of generating a digital terrain model with national coverage should be a priority of institutions able to manage such a project (at this scale) and also a priority for possible direct or indirect beneficiaries The authors present the advantages of using laser scan results as a modern topo-graphic lifting method. Combined with the aerial elevation, they can study natural processes such as soil erosion, landslides as well as the determination of the topographic features of the terrain. The possibilities of deriving the topographic products from the digital model of the land elaborated following the mentioned lifting are examined.
