In the collections of the National Museum of History of Moldova are stored a series of Polish medals which glorify the epic life and deeds of some outstanding personalities from the history of the Polish state. Given the museum’s specific, being originally part of the Republican Museum of Military Glory and the State Museum of History and Study of the National Land, the museographers were involved in collecting materials focused on military issues. For this reason, most of the pieces collected are related to the spiritual and material culture of the Polish state: various military events, historical personalities, army generals. With the passing of the years, the change of political regimes and of borders between states, changes and interpretations in the vision and significance of various political events occurred as well. As a result, some of the NMHM’s heritage collections may lose their status: main collections can become auxiliary collections and auxiliary collections may become main collections. Regardless of the period of collection and interpretation, these pieces were part of Polish history, culture and heritage. Thanks to colleagues who were responsible with collection and valorization of these pieces, today we have them in the heritage of the NMHM.

В фонды Национального музея истории Молдовы некогда поступило несколько польских медалей, посвященных выдающимся деятелям польского государства. Музейщики, занимавшиеся сбором материалов, были тогда сотрудниками Республиканского музея воинской славы и Государственного историко-краеведческого музея, и их усилия были сосредоточены на поисках экспонатов военной тематики. По этой причине значительная часть собранных предметов связана с историей польского государства и повествует о различных военных событиях, исторических и военных деятелях. С течением времени, со сменой политических режимов, сменой границ между государствами происходят изменения и в интерпретации значения того или иного политического события. В результате некоторые из коллекций, хранящихся в фондах НМИМ, могут изменить свой статус: из основного фонда перейти во вспомогательный, из вспомогательного фонда – в основной. Но, независимо от времени поступления или интерпретации, рассматриваемые нами здесь предметы являются частью польской истории, культуры и наследия. Благодаря музейным работникам, занимавшимся когда-то их сбором и изучением, сегодня эти медали есть в фондах НМИМ.
