Gheorghe Vodă is known as an iconoclast, a “breaker” of trivial and fixed works of the 60’s poetry. He is a gnomic, polemic and nonconformist poet, who makes poetry for the mind’s eye. He has a pronounced subversive character in some sequences from the volumes Ploaie fierbinte, Aripi pentru Manole, Pomii dulci, and others. The system of individual symbols is revealed through the local mythological substratum, a reaction to the Golem model, promoted by the opportunist poetry. The “controlled echo effect” at the life and literature’s seisms of his poetry causesits specificity and fascination.Generated by the enthusiasm of the construction of a new society, a society of the “heaven on the Earth”, the flight’s symbol expresses the great fervour of the era. The flight to the heights of the poetry contrasts with the “fall”. The poetry has to be on the Earth. Here is the quintessence of hiseffort to correct the flight of poetry, which is confused by the „heights”.
