The transformation processes from the beginning of 90s lead to significant changes that affected the agricultural production, consumption and trade, particularly because of the carried reforms in various spheres as: political, economic and administrative. In this context, a key role is for governmental regulation in order to achieve economic growth, to support farmers’ incomes and to improve the living standards of rural population. Nowadays, the agricultural sector is affected by a number of risk factors as droughts, floods, frosts etc which influence negatively the production activity and cause losses for farmers. Therefore in the given paper we will analyze the necessity of subsidizing production risks in agriculture and its economical advantages for farmers.
