Rezumat

In the context of financial market development and diversification of instruments made in the work of banks, these institutions are vital for economic and social progress and are placed on a dual platform as importance: first having access to capital markets compete with securities firms, mutual funds, insurance companies, etc., creating an indirect competition in the relationships with these in the accumulation of funds and, secondly, by expanding its proper distribution network of products and services directly strengthens its position in the own market segment occupied by reducing the share of the other market 227 participants in the banking sector. Thus, the concentration are an decisive element of the development of banking relationships character involving various actions on the elements of competitive performance in the system of institutions participate in these relationships. This article includes three essential parts, namely: the first is reflected in the current development of the domestic banking sector, namely, the place and role of commercial banks into the contemporary free market relations; Part Two includes commercial banks share of the domestic banking sector categories depending on the size of their assets and demonstrate the impact generated by massive merger activity in this sphere, the latter were developed a number of conclusions regarding the link between concentration banking and competitive performance of local commercial banks.
