Crop protection on vegetable production is one of the main factor to obtain the high yield of good quality. One of the problems of the vegetable are the different kind of the weeds. In our researches we studied the efficiency of the new herbicide Challenge 600 SC for to control the damage caused by the most widespread weeds on onions and carrots. Experiments was done in the central part of the republic on the heavy black soil. The following doses of the herbicide were studied 0,45– 0,55 l/ha (for onion) and 3,5–4,0 l/ha (for carrots). The results show the herbicide Challenge 600 SC is very effective in controlling of the weeds. The bests results in comparation with the standards, where obtained in the variant with the doses 0,45 l/ha by spraying the soil before sowing on the onion and 3,5–4,0 l/ha with the two weeks interval on the carrots.
