Rezumat | ||||||
Fungal endophytes were isolated from 12 Artemisia species. 57 strains were evaluated for their antagonist traits against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and 33 of them were considered bioactive. Almost all strains in Aspergillus taxa (3 of 4 species) performed as rapid colonizers of the substrate in the dual culture interaction. Both strains identified as Epicoccum nigrum detained pathogen growth at > 2 mm. Of 19 endophytic fungal solvent extracts two strains identified as Alternaria alternata and Stemphylium sp. inhibited mycelial growth in biometric assay with 42.40% and 81.41%, respectively (at [C] = 1%). Almost 4 times more strains were found as potential antagonists than as bio - sources of solvent extracted active metabolites (33 strains versus 8). |
