Rezumat

By working on all areas of activity, the huge computer network has re-volutionized and in business, leading to the emergence of new business methods, a com-pelling example is e-commerce. In such a context, it is worth to mention that the unpre-cedented dynamic evolution of information and communication technologies, and thus the emergence of the information society, has led to profound changes in trade. These radical changes, which directly affect consumer's behavior, will be analyzed in this re-search project. First of all, it was intended to identify the growth rates of e-commerce's popularity, its advantages and disadvantages while arguing it with reliable statistical data. Also, some practical aspects will be investigated with the aim of keeping the con-sumer's security and privacy. And, finally, a clear and objective conclusion will reveal the essence of the influence of electronic commerce on the contemporary consumer.
