Printre sculptorii de formaţie sovietică, care s-au consacrat ca artişti plastici sub povara regimului totalitar, dar care au ştiut să deosebească valoarea de non-valoare şi să-şi impună propria lor viziune şi propriul său stil de creaţie, se numără şi sculptorul Constantin C. Constantinov. El s-a născut la 10 februarie 1943 în oraşul Mary, Turkmenistan. În anii 1958–1963 a fost elev la Şcoala Republicană de Pictură I. E. Repin din Chişinău, secţia sculptură, profesor A. F. Maiko. În 1968 a absolvit Şcoala Superioară Industrială de Artă (fosta Stroganov) din Moscova, Secţia Sculptură Monumental-Decorativă, avândui ca profesori pe S. L. Rabinovici şi S. N. Volkov. Relevarea esenţei prin tipizare, detaliul realist şi aspectele psihologice caracterizează portretul în viziunea sculptorului Constantin C. Constantinov. Nudurile create de artist se caracterizează prin profunzime psihologică, lucru care scoate în evidenţă personalitatea, aspiraţiile, decepţiile personajelor.
