Rezumat

Telemedicine can be defined as the use of electronic signals to transfer medical information from one system to another. The emergence and development of Teleradiology occurred due to the needs of optimal allocation of resources. The effectiveness of medical care is being increasing simply by the fact that an expert radiologist or other specialist can view patient images from his working place without losing his precious time for traveling. Teleradiology solution offers a range of advantages: reducing the presence of specialists on call, rapid obtaining of second opinions, medical centers interconnection etc.In our study we will focus on the Teleradiology activity. A prospective study of consulted cases was conducted via Teleradiology; there were applied two basic methods of transmitting information. In 01.01.2012 to 31.12.2012 there were totally examined 393 children and consulted 430 radiological images, of them - through Skype - 102 children and 199 images via iPath platform. Conclusion. Successful implementation of Teleradiology within Telemedicine has improved the quality of diagnosis in cases treated in the pilot centers.
