Rezumat

With the implementation of democratic principles in the postcommunist societies, the study about youth mentality and behaviour and their impact upon political relations has raised considerably. The high interest in youth generation has grown due to the fact that young people are not only the future generation, which valorizes the real experience in multidimensional context of transition, but also the actual generation, which gathers new knowledge trying either hard or conflictually, to combine them with the values of the preceding generation, to mix innovation with valued traditions in order to ensure the continuity of political process. In front of nowadays young generation a fundamental goal is set, connected with the solution of socio-political problems and the horizontal modification of the normative, participative, relational and valuable system of the future society. Accomplishing a set of social functions, the young generation is recognized within society as a relevant subject of social and political relations. This social quality of young people is connected with their position in society, and it is realized in the historical and objective framework throughout the process of socialization. In spite of the fact that young generation is a specific social category, its possibilities in the political life are limited by normative acts and by the judicial framework in this branch. Young people do not fully comprehend the objective quality of the socio-political relations and treat them in a subjective way, without the profound rationality of the process. In an unstable society, dominated by negativism and social ignorance, young generation has a contradictory and paradoxical character, as well as the existent political relations among them and other political actors of the society.
