The MSSR, till 1944, even it was called „state”, and in the press from 1940-1941 even „confederal”, it did not have its own Department of Foreign Affairs. After its creation in 1944, Moldova was ignored for a long time even by the dele-gations from the socialist countries. The first visit in the republic from abroad was just in 1950 – from Romania. There were some contacts with the representatives of this country till 1945. In that period (1945-1953), the representatives of Moldova visited only Romania, Spain and Great Britain. |
