Pest and disease control in vine cultures imposes high costs because as many as 10-11 treatments per year may be required in order to obtain high production levels. The repeated use of pesticides may result in soil pollution and degradation of the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil. Pollution diminishes soil fertility, destroys the microorganisms and reduces the bio-productive capacity, both in quantity and quality. In order to reduce soil pollution and diminish the costs of the chemical treatments a liquid recycling device was design and built. The device is mounted on the TARAL 200 PITON TURBO sprayer; the dispersed solution is collected by the means of vertical panels, one on each side of the vine row. The experimental test were conducted for four development phases of the vine plantation (embower and coppice growing, before flowering, immediately after flowering, berry growth); the spraying machine was equipped with air entrainment nozzles (IDK 120-02 – LECHLER). The experimental results confirmed the validity of the idea, a significant quantity of solution being recycled to the liquid tank of the machine. |
