Rezumat

In 2013, the impact of Tantareni landfill on surface water and groundwater was established and studied. In this period, water samples were collected from Ţânţăreni landfill. The water samples were taken from wells and the pond, in which both physical-chemical: pH, ions HCO3-, Cl-, SO42-, Ca2+, Mg2+ and toxicological indicators: CCO(Cr), NH4+, NO3-, NO2- were found, as well as heavy metals: Cu2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Cr6+. The alert samples for the identification of the surface water pollution were taken from the pond located at a distance of 1800 m downstream of the dam embankment of the landfill for domestic waste storage. Having analysed the geochemical stream, we can conclude that the leachate, originated from domestic waste, seeps deep into the ground, passes under the dam and gets into the groundwater and surface water. Thus, the water in the pond with an area of 0.7 ha, located at a distance of 1.8 km downstream of the landfill is brown, which is uncharacteristic of surface waters in the Republic of Moldova. The water in the pond is intermediated by the valley with a length of 1.8 km, which is crossed by the waters from waste leachate. The degree of pollution of the soil cover in this sector will be identified by laboratory analysis of soil samples. The use of the pond water should be restricted. As a measure for this, it is necessary that the perimeter of the pond be fenced so that livestock do not have access to the water.
