Rezumat

Landslides annually considerable material damage causing destroying the houses, roads, industrial facilities, agricultural lands, etc. The interest for mapping and assessment of geomorphological hazard has increased considerably in the last decade, with the objective of estimation of the probability of occurrence in time and space of events with potentially dangerous for human society. As an alternative, the maps of susceptibility for certain processes have been developed, as assessments of the spatial probability for the production of the events with a differently degree of risk. Based on the cartographic materials analysis (topographic maps at 1: 25.000 and 1: 50.000 scale and orthophoto images) the inventory of landslides was achieved, which were subsequently validated based on numerous field trips. So, the necessary materials for susceptibility parameters assessing had accumulated, in order to develop risk maps, based on real data from the field trips and high precision cartographic materials. The landslides throughout the Republic of Moldova are recorded. However, these processes are manifested more frequently in the plateau regions, primarily in the central part of the country. Within Northern Codrii 700 landslide were identified with a total area of 10619,5ha. So, the degree of damage with landslides in the region is 9.1%. The average surface area of a landslide is 15.1 ha, varying from 0.1 ha to 253 ha.
