Rezumat

In order to expand the nature of metal in complexes modelling the active centres of Hydrogenases, a Co complex with ligand derived from the condensation reaction of cobalt(II) thiocyanate and bis( 4 - (p - methoxyphenyl)- thiosemicarbazon) -2,4 -butane has been synthesized. According to X-ray crystallography crystalizes in P-1 space group of triclinic system. The crystal has a molecular structure built up from dimeric molecular complexes [Co2(L2)2(SCN)2] (figure 1), were L2- is double deprotonated bis (4-(p-methoxyphenyl)-thiosemicarbazon)-2,4-butane) ligand, DMF and H2O as solvate molecules in 1:2.5:1.5 ratio. The cobalt(III) atoms in dimeric complex are in a quite regular octahedron N3S3 environment formed in equatorial plane by two L2- as tetradentate and two NCS- anions in apical positions, as monodentate ligands. One of the sulphur atoms of the Schiff base ligands are additionally coordinated to adjacent the cobalt atom which determined the formation of binuclear [Co2(L2)2(SCN)2] complex.
